Day 2 - Sawpit Creek trib. to Blue Waterholes

Another long day 35k, +1295m, -1210m.

Now at Blue Water Holes 35 37.35, 148 41.32. What a spectacular place. You come down the track into a desert like canyon on your left, then across the flat and down the
dry creek bed a few corners.

Suddenly water pours out from underground to create a stunning creek. I am camped just upstream of the entry to a gorge.

I will have a rest day tomorrow exploring the area as I only arrived here at
sunset. More big hills today. Dropped into the catchment for
Canberra. Very small creek, Olly could have jumped it. Then an 800m
climb to the highest point in ACT, Bimberi Peak. Looking west I saw flat plains and
once down to them, it was plain sailing across the grass plains with groups of
wild Brumbies running of into the distance as you approach. They were
very alert, never let you closer than 500-600m and galloped off rather walked.
One group in particular kept a very long way off with 3 dominate males
placing themselves between me and the group. Great to see them wild.
On the reverse I had 3 Kangaroos approach to within 10m and then followed me for a while.
